Notice: SafeSign Compatibility with Recent Windows Preview Update

Further testing has confirmed that recent Windows updates do not cause outages with existing SafeSign versions.

SafeSign IC Minidriver 4.6.0.0 is now available and recommended to ensure continued compatibility and stability.

Possible Smart Card Authentication Issues

On systems where this preview update is installed, users may experience authentication issues when using smart cards through the SafeSign IC Minidriver. This may include errors during PIN entry, such as messages indicating that the PIN cannot be validated (for example, “There was an error while validating your PIN”). 

Solution and Workaround

Our engineering teams are actively working on a solution. Resolving this issue is top priority, and progress is ongoing.

In the meantime, users who encounter this SafeSign PIN or authentication error should uninstall the Windows preview update KB5077241 as a temporary workaround. Systems that have not installed this preview update are not affected.
