What Happens to Currently Supported versions?

The introduction of the BlueX 10-series moves the following versions/series of BlueX to their next life cycle phase:

• BlueX 7.0 is now End-of-Life.
• BlueX 8-series is now End-of-Life.
• BlueX 9-series has now entered the Maintenance-phase.

Final patches for BlueX 7.0 and BlueX 8-series will be available shortly.

We advise upgrading to the new BlueX 10-series or audited BlueX 9-series as soon as possible, as these are now the only supported series of BlueX. Check all life cycle details and supported BlueX-series.

Why Upgrading Is Important
Amongst many new features, the most significant change is the standardization of the formatting of all logging with the newly introduced ‘BlueX Log Format’. This allows for uniform processing and analysis of logs. Working on standardizing the logging format has allowed us to enhance the user experience by addressing many outstanding logging-related improvements and bug fixes. 

Additionally, we have made significant security improvements to address the usage of (by today’s standards) less secure algorithms and mechanisms involved with secret storage and usage.  We have improved both security as well as the overall experience of working with BlueX have improved through maintenance updates and security fixes.

BlueX 10.0.0 is the first release of a BlueX-series with many more exciting features and improvements yet to come in 2025. Do you want to take full advantage of these features and improvements immediately? Now is the best moment to upgrade. Why now? Because if you are already running BlueX 10.0.0, the seamless upgrade functionality of BlueX installers and wizards will take care of the hard work.

What Else Is New?
Upgrading to a new BlueX-series has always involved (manually) adapting the workflow. BlueX 10.0.0 features a new ‘BlueX Workflow Conversion Tool’ which combines past workflow conversion tools, enabling for the conversion of workflows from BlueX 7.0 and newer to BlueX 10.0.0. Moreover, this new tool will be part of every future BlueX release, will be extended for each new BlueX-series, is conveniently available from the start-menu, features a GUI, reporting, and will be improved continuously to make upgrading workflows as easy as possible.
